Russia carried out a targeted massive attack on Ukraine's energy infrastructure with over 70 missiles and 450 strike drones. Several regions and Kyiv were under Russian fire, with 9 people reported wounded and significant damage, according to President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Massive Russian strikes on Ukraine

According to Zelenskyy, Russia combined ballistic missiles with other types of weapons and drones and targeted Sumy, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, and Vinnytsia regions.

Russian strikes damaged residential buildings and energy facilities. In Kyiv, fires broke out in high-rise buildings after drone strikes, and a kindergarten was damaged.

As of now, 9 people are known to have been injured.

Cleanup efforts ongoing

All necessary services are working on the ground, where the security situation allows. Cleanup efforts and infrastructure restoration are ongoing.

"Taking advantage of the coldest days of winter to terrorize people is more important to Russia than turning to diplomacy. And this very clearly shows what is needed from our partners and what can help," Zelenskyy says.

The President of Ukraine names the timely delivery of missiles for air defense systems and the protection of normal life as priorities. In his opinion, without maximum pressure on Moscow, ending the war is impossible.
