Russia heavily strikes Kyiv: Destruction, fire, and casualties reported

On the night of February 3, Russia carried out a combined strike on Kyiv. Many buildings were damaged in the capital, fires broke out, and the number of victims increased, according to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

What Russia attacked with
Starting at 12:24 a.m. Kyiv time, an air raid alert was declared in Kyiv. The first reason for the alert was Russian drones. Immediately after that, forces were deployed in Kyiv, and explosions were heard.
Approximately 40 minutes after the alarm, Russia launched ballistic missiles at Kyiv. The Russians carried out attacks in waves — a loud series of explosions, then silence, followed by more strikes.
Consequences of Russian attack
"Tonight, Kyiv suffered another massive Russian attack. As a result of the fall of Russian drone debris, destruction and damage were recorded in the Dniprovskyi, Darnytskyi, Pecherskyi, and Shevchenkivskyi districts," the National Police of Ukraine says.
However, Russia also struck the Desnianskyi district. More details about each district are provided below.

Dniprovskyi district
Debris from the Russian drone hit a five-story residential building. According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the building was destroyed.
Additionally, a fire broke out at a preschool.
Debris was also found near a store.
Desnianskyi district
In the Desnianskyi district, Russia struck the territory of one of the administrative buildings and in an open area.
Darnitskyi district
Here, a fire broke out at one location, causing damage to the 26th floor of a high-rise building. In addition, the facade and windows of a residential building were damaged. One person was injured.
Another fire broke out and caused damage to a warehouse building.
Pecherskyi district
Russia struck a gas station was hit, damaging the building.
Four parked cars, a power line, and the road surface were also damaged.
Shevchenkivskyi district
A high-rise building caught fire in this district, and two people were injured.
Casualties
During the night, there was information that 2 people were injured as a result of the Russian attack on Kyiv. However, by morning, the number of victims had risen to 3.
