In the Velykyi Burluk direction, Russian forces regularly attempt to break through the border and have created a small zone of control between the cities of Vovchansk and Kupiansk, states Viktor Trehubov, head of communications for the Joint Forces grouping, during a national telethon live broadcast.

"The Velykyi Burluk direction is exactly in the middle between Vovchansk and Kupiansk. It usually doesn’t get much attention, but the Russians are trying to cross the border there whenever they can and have even created a small zone of control near the border, if we’re talking about the eastern part of the Southern Slobozhanskyi direction," Trehubov said.

He also reported that no significant activity by the Russian forces has been recorded in the Northern Slobozhanskyi direction.

Situation on the frontline

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a total of 201 combat engagements were recorded on the frontline on December 2. Russian forces are conducting the most intensive assaults in the Pokrovsk direction.

Earlier, we reported that Ukraine’s Defense Forces are organizing additional logistical routes to supply units in Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad, where heavy fighting continues.

Also today, the German outlet Bild published a report claiming the alleged complete capture of Pokrovsk by Russian forces and that "the battle is over."

The General Staff immediately refuted this information, stressing that it does not correspond to reality.

General Staff spokesman Andriy Kovalov stated that both in the Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad areas, Ukrainian troops are working to establish logistics and are blocking attempts by Russian forces to build up assault groups and advance around the settlements.

In addition, Ukraine’s Third Army Corps debunked a Russian fake claiming that the enemy had supposedly broken through in Lyman, Donetsk region.

Meanwhile, Russian forces continue to suffer significant losses. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has lost an estimated 1,176,230 military personnel.

In particular, yesterday, the losses of Russian forces amounted to 1,200 personnel.

Ukrainian forces also destroyed six tanks, three armored combat vehicles, twelve artillery systems, three multiple-launch rocket systems, ninety operational-tactical UAVs, forty-seven vehicles, and one piece of specialized equipment belonging to the occupiers.
