The US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has issued a demand to Iran to halt the production of drones and missiles, according to Al Jazeera.

Marco Rubio criticized Iran’s missile program, in particular Iranian short-range missiles, as well as Tehran’s use of these munitions against its neighbors in the Persian Gulf over the past month.

"The short-range missiles launched by Iran serve only one purpose: to attack Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, and Bahrain," the US Secretary of State emphasized.

Rubio stressed that Iran must stop producing "drones and missiles we have seen in recently."

Conflict in the Middle East

According to media reports, Marco Rubio recently stated that hostilities against Iran would last at least another 2–4 weeks. According to him, the situation is critically complicated by the lack of direct communication with the Iranian leadership.

Against this backdrop, it recently became known that the US has already transferred an amphibious assault ship and 3,500 US Marines to the Middle East.

In addition, the Pentagon is considering sending another 10,000 troops to expand military capabilities under President Trump.

A US military representative told The New York Times that amid the escalation of the war with Iran led by President Donald Trump, the number of troops has already exceeded 50,000.

At the same time, sources told Bloomberg that the Trump administration currently has no plans for a ground invasion of Iran. According to them, despite the troop deployment, the US is focusing on strategic pressure without involving ground forces.

US Vice President J.D. Vance said that the operation against Iran will continue for some time and added that its goal is to neutralize Tehran for the long term.
