Putin denies Ukraine would get security guarantees in exchange for territory

Russian President Vladimir Putin did not raise the issue of exchanging security guarantees for Ukraine in return for territory, according to the press conference of the Kremlin leader.
Putin said that every country has the right to ensure its own security, but this should not be done at the expense of another country’s security.
"We proceed from the principle that any country should have these guarantees and security systems, and Ukraine in particular. But this is not related to any exchanges, especially exchanges of territory," he added.
Security guarantees for Ukraine
Several European countries are currently discussing the possible deployment of soldiers to Ukraine as a form of security guarantees. European troops would be tasked with deterring Russia from further aggression.
The US has also promised to participate in providing security guarantees to Ukraine. According to US President Donald Trump, his country would play a supporting role.
Media outlets have already circulated rumors that the US may assist Ukraine with intelligence and air defense.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has promised that the written configuration of security guarantees for Ukraine will be presented later this week.
