Progressive Democrats may disrupt Trump’s speech in Congress - CNN

Progressive members of the Democratic Party are planning protests during US President Donald Trump's upcoming speech to Congress. This move may challenge party leaders who have urged against disrupting the President's address, according to CNN.
Tensions are rising within the Democratic caucus in the House of Representatives ahead of US President Donald Trump's upcoming speech to Congress.
Party leaders are urging their members to show restraint, but progressive members are debating whether to challenge their leadership and stage a protest against the President's actions.
Frustration and disagreements over tactics spilled over during closed meetings throughout the week, particularly on Tuesday, when Democratic House leader Hakeem Jeffries and his senior aides advised colleagues to stay focused on the party's broader message regarding the real-world consequences of Trump's government cleaning.
Jeffries' suggestions did not include attention-grabbing signs or props that could be used by the Republican Party, which sparked some resistance at the caucus meeting on Tuesday.
Rep. Mark Pocan stated that he is super frustrated, a progressive Democrat from Wisconsin. According to several attendees, their constituents would be upset if Democrats did not make their opposition clear.
Sources within the Democratic Party told CNN that Pocan and other members of Congress may still challenge the party leadership during the speech and begin a protest against Trump - likely involving signs and props.
Members of the progressive faction in Congress and others have discussed the possibility of holding signs reading "truth/lie" and "fake," as well as bringing boxes of eggs to demonstrate the high prices consumers are facing.
Meanwhile, some Democrats have made it clear that they are not interested in attending the speech and will boycott it. Notable figures include Trump critic Rep. Maxine Waters from California and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez from New York.
Trump's address to Congress
On the evening of March 4, US President Donald Trump will make his first address to Congress before taking office.
The speech will center on Renewing the American Dream, with topics including lowering prices, government reform, consolidating Republican support in the Senate, and foreign affairs, with a focus on ending the war in Ukraine.
US National Security Advisor Mike Waltz stated that Trump had planned to inform Congress about a minerals deal with Ukraine. However, due to a breakdown in negotiations at the White House on February 28, the deal was not signed.
Additionally, Trump suspended military aid to Ukraine. The White House stated that weapons supplies will be resumed once Ukraine re-engages in negotiations to end the war with Russia.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has expressed his willingness to return to the negotiating table for peace.
