Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk plans to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. He may visit Kyiv in early 2025, Radio Liberty reports.

According to Tusk, he agreed on mutual visits with Zelenskyy early next year.

Tusk mentioned that he had a lengthy conversation with President Zelensky the previous day, during which they agreed on an exchange of visits in the coming days. He stated that he would visit Ukraine at the beginning of the year, while President Zelenskyy would travel to Poland at an important moment when the country assumes the presidency of the EU Council.

According to him, Poland and Estonia are currently active in creating a political scenario that provides for the end of the war in Ukraine in a fair way acceptable to Kyiv and its allies.

Tusk emphasized the importance of addressing the situation in a manner that prioritizes their interests and security. He stressed that, in the face of the Russian threat and the ongoing war, solidarity with Ukraine from countries that are wisely and effectively shaping the region's future is crucial for ensuring their shared interests and security.

Tusk's statements

The other day, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that peace talks to end the war between Ukraine and Russia could begin this winter. He said that after Poland's EU presidency begins on January 1, he will hold a series of talks, primarily concerning the situation on Poland's eastern border.

Later, Zelenskyy said he had a conversation with Tusk. They discussed joint work and plans for Poland's EU presidency.

Currently, talks about resolving the war in Ukraine have intensified, but the Kremlin has simultaneously stepped up its shelling. In particular, Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha believes that Moscow is seeking to repeat formats such as Yalta-2 or Minsk-3, rather than a just peace.
