Genuine security and completion of the war need stronger international political and economic pressure on Russia, as well as sufficient support for Ukraine, said President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Call for increased pressure on Russia

The Ukrainian president stressed that decisive and coordinated action by the international community, along with tougher restrictions on Russia, is needed to stop the ongoing Russian strikes on Ukrainian cities.

"All of these attacks must be stopped. What is needed is sufficient support for our defense and continued pressure on Russia," Zelenskyy emphasized.

According to the president, world leaders and partners must make full use of all available leverage, including long-range sanctions and broader economic restrictions.

"Our long-range sanctions, sanctions imposed by our partners, and all forms of political and economic pressure on Russia must work so that genuine security can be achieved. Only pressure will bring peace," the head of state said.

Response to strike on Dnipro city

Zelenskyy added that emergency crews are currently dealing with the aftermath of another Russian attack on the city of Dnipro. The enemy drone strike triggered a large fire in a warehouse building at a Nova Poshta terminal, with flames also spreading to nearby vehicles.

First responders have been working continuously at the scene, attempting to contain and extinguish the blaze. Significant personnel and equipment have been deployed to deal with the aftermath, including about 70 rescuers, 40 police officers, and nearly 30 pieces of specialized equipment.

All relevant services are making every effort to bring the fire under control as quickly as possible. No injuries are reported in the incident.

Assault on Dnipro, May 31 massive strike

Russians launched a drone strike on Dnipro on the afternoon of May 31. The attack sparked a large fire at a warehouse operated by a logistics company, engulfing nearby parked vehicles.

It later emerged that the drone completely destroyed the Nova Poshta branch No. 1. None of the employees were injured. According to Mayor Borys Filatov, the city's residential areas were not damaged.

Also, Russia launched a large-scale aerial assault on Ukraine that same night, using 229 strike drones of various types, including Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and Parodiya decoy drones.

The aerial targets were launched simultaneously from seven different directions. Ukrainian air defense forces managed to shoot down or suppress 212 Russian drones.
