New British aid to Ukraine: MoD shares details about drones included in package
Today, the United Kingdom announced a new aid package for Ukraine. Part of it will be directed towards the production of combat drones, reports the Minister of Defense, Rustem Umerov, on his Facebook page.
According to Umerov, at least 200 million will be allocated for the production of combat drones. The minister notes that the funds will be distributed for reconnaissance, long-range, and naval drones.
"This will be the largest drone delivery to Ukraine among all countries," says Umerov.
Today, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has announced that his country will provide Ukraine with the largest aid package since the beginning of the war. He has stated that £200 million out of £2.5 billion will be allocated for the production of hundreds of thousands of new drones.
According to the prime minister, it will be the most significant assistance compared to any other state. In total, Britain has provided Ukraine with £12 billion in aid.
Production of weapons in Ukraine
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine had to become so strong and effective that Russia knew there would be a response to every attack. To achieve this, it was necessary to strengthen the production of domestic weapons.
Ukraine already produces long-range weapons. For example, specialists have successfully developed a new version of long-range missiles called Neptune. It has also been recently announced that serial production of drones, which are a kind of analog to Iranian Shaheds, has begun.
Moreover, Minister of Strategic Industries Oleksandr Kamyshin revealed that Ukraine had significantly increased the production of ammunition, such as mines by 42 times and artillery shells by almost 3 times.
