Israel has requested a conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, according to Israeli Ynet and comments from Ukraine's Ambassador to Israel Yevhen Korniychuk.
The media reports that the request for talks came from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Ambassador Korniychuk said that the request was submitted last week, but a specific time for the conversation has yet to be agreed upon due to the extremely busy schedules of both leaders. The topics of discussion have not been disclosed.
A source in the Ukrainian Presidential Office also confirmed the request from the Israeli prime minister, noting that Israel has not yet been able to propose a mutually convenient time.
"For President Zelenskyy, it is not a problem to speak with the Israeli leader," the source said.
Cooperation with Middle Eastern countries
Recently, Ukraine has been actively sharing expertise on countering Iranian drone technology with international partners. In particular, Ukrainian specialists of Shahed drone interception were sent to the Middle East to assist in setting up defense systems.
Ukraine has also deployed its drones and experts to strengthen regional security, which remains under constant threat from pro-Iranian groups.
This cooperation is increasingly critical, as major market players, including Saudi oil giant Aramco, are moving quickly to bolster defenses against aerial threats.
