The number of people injured in Cherkasy as a result of the overnight missile attack has risen to seven, including one child, states mayor Anatolii Bondarenko.

Bondarenko added that by morning, firefighters had managed to extinguish the fires sparked by the attack.

“Unfortunately, we have seven injured who sought medical help, including one child,” he said.

Mayor Anatolii Bondarenko vowed to provide more detailed information later and urged locals not to ignore air raid warnings.

His statement came amid an ongoing air raid alert and a warning from the Ukrainian Air Force about a potential ballistic missile threat from Russia.

Overnight, Russia launched Shahed drones and missiles. Fires broke out in the historic center of Odesa, damaging several architectural landmarks.

It was later confirmed that the famous Pryvoz market, located in Odesa’s historic district, caught fire.

The city of Mykolaiv also faced a Shahed drone attack, with local officials reporting fires. No information on casualties has been released.

Meanwhile, explosions were heard in Cherkasy amid a missile attack, where fires were previously reported.
