On the night of July 24, Russia launched a Shahed drone attack on Mykolaiv. Fires broke out across the city as a result, states Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych and the head of the regional military administration, Vitalii Kim.

“There are currently fires at the sites of the enemy attack. All necessary emergency services have already been dispatched. More information will follow shortly. Take care of yourselves and don’t ignore the alarms,” Senkevych said.

Kim also confirmed that fires erupted in the city due to the hostile attack. He added that, so far, there have been no reports of casualties.

Night attack on July 24

Russia once again launched Shahed drone strikes against Ukraine overnight on July 24, triggering air raid alerts across multiple regions.

In several cities, local authorities reported air defense systems in action, and explosions were heard, according to social media reports.

Odesa was among the targeted cities. Initially, the regional administration reported explosions, and later it was confirmed that fires had broken out in the city.

Notably, the historic center of Odesa was attacked. Damage was reported to architectural landmarks in the UNESCO-protected historic district.
