The Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko has one week to remove equipment from border regions with Ukraine, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this during a conversation with the media.
The President of Ukraine commented on Lukashenko’s apology and noted that "no one is offended by words alone."
At the same time, he said that there is equipment on Belarusian territory along the border regions with Ukraine that is used to adjust fire against Ukrainians.
"I am giving a week for it to be withdrawn; otherwise, we will do it ourselves," the head of state emphasized.
Earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the Kremlin is working on several scenarios for further escalation of the war, including the possible use of Belarusian territory.
The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine noted that the entire 1,085-kilometer Ukrainian-Belarusian border is under constant control, and fortification efforts are ongoing.
At the same time, Belarus has repeatedly taken part in joint drills with Russia involving the simulated deployment of nuclear weapons. In addition, Minsk regularly claims alleged violations of its airspace by Ukrainian drones.
Meanwhile, experts at the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) do not see signs of preparations for a new ground offensive against Ukraine from Belarusian territory. However, Russia may continue to use the Belarusian direction to carry out strikes on Ukraine’s western regions.
