Loud explosions heard in Nizhny Novgorod region of Russia
In the city of Dzerzhinsk, Nizhny Novgorod region, Russia, loud explosions were heard overnight on March 1, according to the Telegram channel Astra.
The reasons and consequences of the explosions are not reported. It should be noted that the city is home to the Y.M. Sverdlov Plant, a city-forming enterprise that is part of the military-industrial complex of the Russian Federation.
The plant is one of the largest Russian manufacturers of industrial explosives, charges for the mining and ore industry, and seismic and geophysical works. It also produces aviation and artillery shells, aviation bombs, including guided bombs, combat units for cumulative anti-tank guided missiles, warheads for air defense missile systems, and more.

During the night of February 25, Russians reported drone attacks over the Belgorod region and the Black Sea.
The day before, a series of explosions occurred in the Russian city of Lipetsk, followed by a fire at the local Novolipetsk Metallurgical Plant. The facility was attacked by drones. Additionally, on the same night, Russian air defense forces intercepted drones in the Kursk and Tula regions.
The head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU), Vasyl Malyuk, stated that over the past few months, Ukrainian special services have significantly reduced the export of Russian petroleum products. According to him, oil refineries are legitimate targets for Ukraine.
