Lithuanian Parliament speaker visits Kyiv
The Speaker of the Seimas of Lithuania, Saulius Skvernelis, arrived in Kyiv. He discussed further support from Vilnius with the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada (Ukrainian Parliament - ed.), Ruslan Stefanchuk, according to Stefanchuk's Facebook page.
As Stefanchuk reported, the meeting addressed the following issues:
- Continued inter-parliamentary cooperation;
- Lithuania's support for Ukraine's peace formula and victory plan;
- Strengthening sanctions against Russia and the use of Russia's frozen assets for Ukraine's reconstruction.
"I received assurances from my colleague that Lithuania remains a strategic partner of Ukraine in the fight for sovereignty and independence, will continue to allocate 0.25% of its GDP for support, and will continue supporting our European integration path," added the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada.

Stefanchuk emphasized that Skvernelis assured him that Vilnius will continue to be Ukraine's advocate on the international stage, and that Russia will face punishment for starting the full-scale war.
Lithuania's support for Ukraine
Lithuania has become one of the most active countries in supporting Ukraine during Russia's full-scale invasion. Vilnius has provided substantial military aid, including weapons, ammunition, equipment, and training for Ukrainian soldiers. Lithuania has also supported sanctions against Russia and offered shelter to thousands of Ukrainian refugees.
As Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys noted, Vilnius would consider the deployment of Western troops to Ukraine if Kyiv requests such support from Western countries.
Recently, Lithuanian Defense Minister Dovilė Šakalienė announced the transfer of 4,500 drones to Ukraine.
