Lithuania does not rule out sending troops to Ukraine
Lithuania would consider deploying troops if Ukraine requests it, which would be discussed with its allies, LRT reports, citing Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budris.
According to Budris, in such a case, Lithuania would discuss how to carry this out with its allies, partners, and Ukraine.
"Let me remind you that after the Paris Summit, when President Macron invited the President of Lithuania, among other things, to discuss the initiative to expand military participation in Ukraine in various forms, Lithuania did not rule out this possibility," Budris said.
The Foreign Minister reminded that Lithuania had previously been a security provider in the region, contributing not only diplomatically but also in other ways.
"We must now discuss how this will look, based on a very clear and specific position, which has also been communicated to the new US administration, that Lithuania is a security provider in the region, not just a recipient. If the question arises, I have no doubt that the Lithuanian flag will be there," Budris added.
