Denmark, France and Lithuania sent 150 million euros for Ukrainian weapons
Denmark, France, and Lithuania have provided 150 million euros for Ukrainian weapons. The funds will be directed towards the production of missiles, drones, and artillery systems, states Ukraine's Minister of Defense, Rustem Umerov.
"Ukraine has received over 150 million euros (6.5 billion hryvnias) for financing the Ukrainian defense industry from Denmark, France, and Lithuania," said the minister.
He explained that 111 million euros of these funds will be used to fulfill agreements under the cooperation between the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Strategic Industries, and the Ministry of Defense of Denmark to strengthen the Ukrainian Armed Forces with domestically produced modern weaponry.
Another 29 million euros is a grant from the French government to enhance Ukraine's security and defense.
An additional 10 million euros for the development of Ukraine's defense industry was provided by Lithuania under a joint memorandum.
"These funds will specifically be directed towards the production of missiles, DeepStrike drones, and artillery systems," Umerov added.
Danish initiative on weapons
It is worth noting that this year, Ukraine and Denmark launched a new initiative to invest in domestic arms production. As part of the project, partners are allocating funds for Ukrainian weapons and gaining access to advanced military technologies.
Lithuania and Sweden have already joined the initiative. Lithuania is allocating 10 million euros for the production of long-range weapons, including the Palianytsia project, while Sweden will provide funds for the production of Ukrainian long-range drones.
