Lithuania to allocate €10 million for Ukrainian weapons by year-end
Lithuania will allocate the first tranche for weapons production in Ukraine under the Danish initiative, stated Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal at a briefing with his Lithuanian counterparts.
According to him, there is an agreement on the first tranche of €10 million from Lithuania to implement the Danish initiative this year.
“Following the Danish example, but in fact, Lithuania has become the second country among our partners to implement this approach,” the Prime Minister emphasized.
This year, Ukraine and Denmark agreed on a new model allowing partners to invest in the production of Ukrainian weapons. In return, allies will gain access to advanced military technologies.
Earlier, Ukraine's Defense Minister Rustem Umerov reached an agreement with Lithuania to join the Danish initiative. Lithuania will fund the production of long-range weaponry, including the Palianytsia project.
Additionally, Ukraine secured Sweden's commitment to fund domestic defense projects. Sweden will finance the production of Ukrainian long-range drones under the Danish model.
