Largest logistics operation: Lithuania delivers thermal power plant to Ukraine

The Ministry of Energy reported that the European Commission has successfully carried out one of its largest coordinated logistics operations, delivering a complete set of thermal power plant equipment from Lithuania to Ukraine. The complex operation, which lasted 11 months, involved 149 shipments of equipment weighing a total of 2,399 tons.

The supplied equipment has helped carry out emergency repairs in several regions of Ukraine where energy infrastructure was heavily damaged by Russian strikes.

Pivdennyi port in Odesa caught fire following Russian attack

According to Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction, Oleksii Kuleba, the strike caused a fire at the port, igniting around 30 containers of flour and vegetable oil. Port workers and all relevant services are on-site, working to contain the aftermath.

European Union extends economic sanctions against Russia until mid-2026

On Monday 22, the EU Council extended economic sanctions against Russia for its aggression toward Ukraine by another six months. The measures will remain in place at least until July 31, 2026.

First introduced in 2014, these economic measures were significantly expanded from February 2022 in response to Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš said the "ammunition initiative" was "certainly a good thing." However, he noted that the key question is whether the entire process was free of corruption.

Russian general killed in car explosion in Moscow

Reports have emerged that Major General Fanil Sarvarov of the Russian Armed Forces was targeted in Moscow.

The explosion occurred in the courtyard of a residential building as he got into his car. The 56-year-old general was entering his Kia Sorento on Yaseneva Street when the blast went off.

It was later confirmed that he died in the attack.
