Lithuania launches program for rehabilitation of Ukrainian military personnel

Lithuania is launching a special rehabilitation program for the Ukrainian military. Vilnius has allocated about 15 million euros for this purpose and to help Ukraine, according to the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
The funds will be used directly to reconstruct hospitals and train specialists.
"Today, Lithuania is launching a special rehabilitation program for wounded Ukrainian soldiers. We will contribute to the development of the relevant infrastructure and services of the three Baltic countries in Lviv, Dnipro, and Zhytomyr," says Lithuanian Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonyte.
Lithuania's assistance to Ukraine
Since the first days of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Lithuania has been one of Ukraine's most loyal allies. Its assistance covers both the military sphere and political support for Ukraine's European and NATO aspirations.
In January 2024, during a visit to Kyiv, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda announced a €200 million aid package for Ukraine. These funds are aimed at supporting Ukraine's economy and defense capabilities in the long term.
Recently, Lithuania announced plans to purchase nearly 3,000 FPV drones for the Ukrainian army. The Lithuanian budget will allocate 2 million euros for this purpose. These drones will become an important tool for the Ukrainian military in the fight against the enemy.
In addition to military aid, Lithuania will also assist Ukraine in restoring the energy infrastructure damaged by Russian shelling.
Lithuania not only provides Ukraine with substantial assistance but also actively calls on the international community to strengthen sanctions against Russia and provide Ukraine with comprehensive support.
