Ukrainian Foreign Minister invited Foreign Minister of Côte d'Ivoire to Global Peace Summit
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba held a phone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Côte d'Ivoire, Kacou Léon Adom. During the call, the Ukrainian minister expressed gratitude to the African country for its support of Ukraine, particularly at the UN, according to Twitter (X) of Dmytro Kuleba.
The head of the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also informed his colleague about the upcoming inaugural Global Peace Summit in Switzerland and invited Côte d'Ivoire to participate in it.
Furthermore, both sides eagerly anticipate the official inauguration of the Ukrainian Embassy in the country's capital, Abidjan.
The Republic of Côte d'Ivoire is a state in West Africa, bordered to the north by Mali and Burkina Faso, to the east by Ghana, to the west by Liberia and Guinea. It is washed by the Gulf of Guinea of the Atlantic Ocean to the south.
Global Peace Summit
During his speech at the G20 summit in November 2022, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyн proposed a "peace formula" to halt Russia's full-scale invasion.
In January 2024, Ukraine and Switzerland began preparations for hosting the Global Peace Summit, where the proposed "peace formula" will be discussed. The meeting will be attended by heads of states, with over 80 countries and international institutions involved in its preparation.
Switzerland's government has chosen Geneva as the venue for the summit.
