The expected trilateral meeting between Russian leader Vladimir Putin, Chinese leader Xi Jinping and US President Donald Trump at the APEC summit in Shenzhen will not be enough to fully resolve the Ukraine crisis, states Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov.
According to the Kremlin official, it is impossible to resolve the entire range of issues surrounding Ukraine in a single round of talks.
“How can everything be resolved? Whether the meeting lasts one hour, two hours or five hours, it still won't be possible to resolve all the issues,” Ushakov noted.
He also added that experts had already identified the main topics to be discussed during the upcoming trilateral meeting.
The Kremlin claims that all parties have confirmed their readiness to hold the trilateral summit and that experts have already worked out the details of the event.
The key condition now is for all three leaders to be in the same place at the same time.
Commenting on possible comparisons between the talks and a new Yalta, Ushakov said that if the meeting takes place, it will spark a major wave of analysis.
“I think that if the meeting takes place, there will be a storm of comments and assessments. People will find a name for this meeting,” the Russian dictator's aide concluded.
The Kremlin has said that the war in Ukraine is now approaching its end.
Earlier, Russian leader Vladimir Putin said during a meeting with US presidential envoy Steve Witkoff that Moscow was ready to resume negotiations with Washington and Kyiv.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump wants to sign a peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia at the G20 summit, scheduled to take place in Florida in December. However, the negotiations could involve a degree of pressure on Kyiv.
