Russian President Vladimir Putin told US President Donald Trump's envoy, Steve Witkoff, during a meeting that Moscow was allegedly ready to resume talks with Washington and Kyiv, according to Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov.

According to him, during the meeting between Witkoff and Putin, the possibility of resuming negotiations between Ukraine, the US, and Russia was "specifically discussed."

Ushakov claims that the talks were supposed to resume immediately after the State Duma elections, but Ukraine allegedly "disrupted" these plans with "massive" strikes on Moscow and other cities on the "main voting day."

"Our president informed Steve Witkoff that we are, in principle, ready to resume the aforementioned trilateral talks around November 10 on the main issue. This issue concerns building a security system for Russia and Ukraine after the conflict ends," he said.

Putin's aide added that Witkoff assured him that such a decision "would be welcomed with great pleasure by President Donald Trump."

Witkoff's visit to Putin

Today, October 21, US President Donald Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff made his ninth visit to Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss the possibility of resolving Russia's war against Ukraine.

The visit took place the day after Witkoff met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Oslo. Trump's envoy was expected to convey new peace proposals to the Kremlin leader.

So far, there has been no clear progress. Russia has shown no willingness to make concessions and continues to reject any form of ceasefire.
