Kremlin special envoy Kirill Dmitriev briefed Russian President Vladimir Putin on the results of talks with a US delegation in Miami on Ukraine, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Russian media.

Peskov refused to disclose the contents of the documents that Dmitriev allegedly brought from the United States and that concern the settlement of the situation around Ukraine.

"We still believe, including at this stage, that it is very inappropriate to conduct any communication through the media. Therefore, we will not talk about what exactly Dmitriev brought, and even more so, we will not talk about it through the press," the spokesman for the president said.

Peskov claims that Moscow will "continue contacts with the United States through existing channels" in the near future.

He added that Russia's position on the settlement will be formulated based on the information received from Kirill Dmitriev.

Talks in Florida

On December 20 and 21, US President's special envoy Steve Witkoff and Donald Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, met with the head of the Russian sovereign wealth fund, Kirill Dmitriev, in Miami, Florida.

Following the meetings, Witkoff said that Russia remains fully committed to achieving peace in Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Putin's envoy described the talks with US representatives in Florida as constructive.

Before the talks with Russia, the US side met with Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov.

According to Umerov, the Ukrainian delegation held "a series of productive and constructive meetings" with representatives of the United States and European partners.

A Russian source told Reuters that during these meetings, direct contacts between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations were ruled out.
