Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov refused to comment on the incident involving Russian drones in Poland, which occurred on the night of September 10, according to Russian media.

Peskov referred questions about the violation of Polish airspace by drones to the Ministry of Defense.

The press secretary of Putin also said that he was not aware of any requests for contact from the Polish leadership to the Kremlin.

Russian drones invaded Polish airspace en masse

On the night of September 10, Russian drones invaded Poland - the country's government reported 19 drones, 4 of which were shot down.

Due to the incident, regular aircraft were scrambled, and several airports suspended operations due to the danger.

In the morning, the country's top officials held an emergency meeting, and Warsaw called on the Alliance to invoke Article 4 of the NATO Treaty, which provides for consultations among member states in the event of a threat.

The EU and a number of other countries soon responded to the drones in Polish airspace, expressing words of solidarity. However, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that words alone are not enough and added that he would demand more from NATO allies.

NATO issued a formal comment on the drones in Poland and only mentioned the close contacts between the Secretary General and the country's leadership.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump declined to comment on the incursion of drones into Polish airspace.

Russia had been preparing strikes against Poland and Lithuania for several months. This was evidenced by the discovery of SIM cards from these countries in the wreckage of drones shot down in Ukraine.
