An aide to Russian President Vladimir Putin, Nikolai Patrushev, claimed that Ukraine will cease to exist. In his opinion, this will happen in 2025, according to the Russian outlet Komsomolskaya Pravda.

According to him, negotiations to end the war in Ukraine should be conducted between Russia and the United States.

"If we talk about the specific prospects for the further development of events considering the Trump factor, we respect his statements. I believe that negotiations on Ukraine should be held between Russia and the US without the involvement of other Western countries," Patrushev said.

In his opinion, there is "nothing to discuss" with London and Brussels. Patrushev believes that the EU leadership cannot speak on behalf of many of its members, including Hungary, Slovakia, Austria, and Romania, as these countries have a "balanced position toward Russia."

He also spoke of the Russians' "brotherly attitude" toward Ukrainians and claimed that Moscow supposedly cares about what is happening in Ukraine. Putin's aide traditionally blamed Ukraine for destroying its own cities.

"It is especially concerning that the violent imposition of neo-Nazi ideology and intense Russophobia are destroying Ukraine's once-flourishing cities, particularly Kharkiv, Odesa, Mykolaiv, and Dnipropetrovsk (Dnipro - ed.)," he stated.

Center for Counteracting Disinformation responded to Patrushev's statements

The head of the Center for Counteracting Disinformation (CCD), Andrii Kovalenko, also responded to Patrushev's statements.

"He has failed everything he could fail, including advising Putin on the scare tactic with Oreshnik, which ultimately didn't work and gave the Russians no leverage against the West, not to mention certain 'diplomatic' missions to the West on Putin's tasks," Kovalenko wrote.

In his opinion, Patrushev is afraid of the truth that, in the next 50 years, the chances of a controlled breakup of the Russian Federation into national formations are extremely high, and more and more people will be interested in this. Kovalenko believes that over the next 10 years, especially if Russia enters into direct conflict with NATO, everything will become apparent.

"Of course, Patrushev's chances of seeing an independent Bashkortostan, Tatarstan, Komi, or Sakha with his own eyes are quite small. His age is no longer on his side. That’s why he writes nonsense about Ukraine," emphasized the head of the CCD.

Discussions about negotiations between Ukraine and Russia

Ukraine's Western partners are increasingly raising the issue of possible negotiations between Kyiv and Moscow, especially following Donald Trump's victory in the US presidential election.

Currently, no peace negotiations are being held between Ukraine and Russia. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that a diplomatic resolution to the war is only possible after strengthening Ukraine's positions, and peace must be established solely on Ukraine's terms.
