Ukraine has to do everything to end the war diplomatically in 2025. This is an important aspect to work on, says President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in an interview with Ukrainian Radio.
“On our part, we have to do everything to ensure that the war ends next year through diplomatic means,” Zelenskyy said.
He emphasizes that this is an important aspect and adds that Ukrainians should remember who they are fighting, as Russians do not value people and equipment.
Negotiations between Ukraine and Russia
Ukraine and Russia held several rounds of negotiations at the beginning of the full-scale war. They took place in Belarus and Istanbul. The parties are not currently holding peace talks.
Some Western media reported that Ukraine and Russia allegedly negotiated to stop strikes on the energy sector. But both sides have denied this.
US President-elect Donald Trump said he wants to bring Ukraine and Russia to the negotiating table.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine would return to the negotiations only if it had a strong position. The country should not be alone with Moscow.
