Kamala Harris gains edge over Trump in crucial swing states
US presidential candidate Kamala Harris currently leads her opponent, Donald Trump, in four out of seven swing states, according to Times/YouGov poll.
The poll, conducted from October 25 to 31, 2024, focused on seven critical swing states: Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.
The results show that Vice President Kamala Harris holds a narrow lead among voters in Wisconsin (49% to 45%), Pennsylvania (49% to 46%), Michigan (48% to 45%), and Nevada (48% to 47%).
Trump barely leads in North Carolina (49% to Harris’s 48%) and Georgia (48% to 47%).
In Arizona, the candidates are tied with 48% support each.
Harris’s support in Arizona has risen by three percentage points compared to early September. In other swing states, the level of support for both Harris and Trump has either increased by one point or remained unchanged.
The poll indicates that Harris leads among female voters, while Trump holds an edge among men.
“If the leads in these states hold up and the remaining states vote the same way they did in 2020, then Kamala Harris would narrowly win the electoral vote,” analysts note.
