Israeli Cabinet allows government to respond to Hezbollah's missile strike on Golan Heights
The Israeli Cabinet, following its meeting, has authorized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant to decide on the scope and timing of the country's response to yesterday's missile attack on a stadium in the Golan Heights, according to The Times of Israel and Reuters.
According to the Prime Minister's Office, the Cabinet has authorized decisions on the manner and timing of the response to the missile attack, for which Tel Aviv holds the Hezbollah group in Lebanon responsible.
Following objections from ministers about how the strike on Yemen was approved last week, each minister was given ample time to speak at the current meeting, reports the Israeli edition Yedioth Ahronoth.
However, the report noted that Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir abstained from voting.
The Cabinet meeting also addressed negotiations for the release of hostages held by Hamas militants. Another official meeting focused on Israel's next steps in this regard, according to Yedioth Ahronoth.
