Israel's military aviation launched a series of strikes on Hezbollah militant group targets in Lebanon last night, hitting both deep inside the country and in the south, according to a statement from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

The Israeli military command's report indicated that the targets of the attack included, among other things, weapon depots of the militants.

The strikes affected areas in seven towns in Lebanon.

"Overnight, the IAF struck a series of Hezbollah terror targets both deep inside Lebanese territory and in southern Lebanon, including weapons caches and terrorist infrastructure in the areas of Chabriha, Borj El Chmali, and Beqaa, Kfarkela, Rab El Thalathine, Khiam, and Tayr Harfa," the Israeli military statement said.

Additionally, the IDF released video footage of the strikes.

It should be noted that earlier, the Israeli publication The Times of Israel reported that Lebanese media had noted IDF airstrikes in several areas of southern Lebanon, including Abbasiyah, Khiyam, and Kafr Kila. There were also reports of attacks on the town of Burj el-Shemali, located approximately 3 kilometers from Tyre.

Israeli military radio also cited Arab press reports suggesting that the IDF targeted the Chebaa area, from which, according to Israeli military reports, a rocket strike was launched the previous day on a sports stadium in the Majdal Shams area in northern Israel.

Footage of the alleged Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon appeared online on the night of July 28.

What preceded

On the evening of July 27, Israel reported a Hezbollah terrorist attack on a stadium in the Golan Heights area of Majdal Shams. According to the latest data, 12 people were killed, including children.

Later, the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that this Hezbollah attack "crossed all red lines."

However, Hezbollah denied responsibility for the strike on the stadium.

It was also reported that the United States expressed concern that the strike on the Golan Heights could lead to war between Israel and Hezbollah.

Additionally, the Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces, Herzi Halevi, stated that Hezbollah terrorists in Lebanon could expect a very serious response to the strike on the Golan Heights.
