Israel prepares response to Hezbollah strike, defense minister defines course of action
Israel is preparing a response to the Hezbollah attack on the Golan Heights stadium. Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant has already chosen a course of action for the response, reports The Times of Israel.
Following today's Hezbollah attack, senior military and security officials presented “options for action against Hezbollah” to the Israeli Defense Minister.
The Minister assessed the situation together with the Chief of Staff of the Israeli Defense Forces, Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi, the head of the Shin Bet Ronen Bar, Mossad Chief David Barnea, and other officials.
“Gallant determined the courses of action and instructed the defense establishment accordingly,” the Defense Ministry said.
Israel reported today that Hezbollah had struck in the Majdal Shams area. The strike killed 11 people on a sports field and injured more than 30 others.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is urgently returning to Israel from the United States.
