On Sunday evening, March 29, Israeli military forces reported new strikes on Tehran, which led to a partial blackout in the Iranian capital, according to Radio Svoboda.
“The Israel Defense Forces are currently striking targets of the Iranian terrorist regime across Tehran,” the IDF statement said, following the detection of seven missile launches from Iran earlier in the day.
Iranian authorities then reported that the strikes occurred after earlier attacks, which caused power outages in some areas of the capital, including Karaj and other cities.
A few hours after the power outage, the state news agency FARS reported that electricity had been restored in most parts of Tehran.
Other strikes on Iran
Earlier, the IAEA stated that as a result of strikes on the heavy water plant in Khondab, the facility suffered significant damage and is no longer operational. No declared nuclear materials were found at the site.
Additionally, a week earlier, US Central Command reported that its forces had destroyed a radar base and observation posts used to track tankers in the Strait of Hormuz.
Experts also told the Financial Times that Iran has significantly reduced the intensity of drone and missile attacks, shifting to a survival strategy.
