The Russian military is continuing to lose troops and weapons as fighting across Ukraine remains intense. Ukraine’s latest daily battlefield update details Russian losses in personnel, tanks, armored vehicles, artillery, aircraft, drones, and other equipment.

The total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, to August 23, 2026, are estimated to be:

    • Personnel ‒ nearly 1,476,580 (+1,310)
    • Tanks ‒ 12,292
    • Armored fighting vehicles ‒ 25,202 (+26)
    • Special equipment ‒ 4,569 (+4)
    • Vehicles and fuel tanks ‒ 138,219 (+415)

    Frontline situation

    On August 22, Ukrainian defense forces struck fuel tanks at the Yeysk oil terminal in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai. The Yeysk oil terminal complex is involved in supplying the Russian army.

    Moreover, Ukrainian defense forces struck two targets simultaneously in the Samara region using FP-1 drones: the Novokuybyshevsk oil refinery and the Ozon logistics hub. The Ozon logistics hub in Chapayevsk is one of the company’s largest fulfillment centers in the Volga region.
