On August 22, Ukrainian defense forces struck fuel tanks at the Yeysk oil terminal in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the General Staff, a fire broke out at the facility following the strike.

The Yeysk oil terminal is part of the infrastructure of the seaport of Yeysk in the Krasnodar Krai of Russia. The port is located on the coast of the Taganrog Gulf of the Azov Sea.

The cargo terminals at the port have a throughput capacity of approximately 6.8 million metric tons of cargo per year. More than 1 million metric tons of this volume consists of liquid cargo, specifically petroleum products.
