The diplomatic "window of opportunity" to end the war will run from the G20 summit in December until the end of summer 2027.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this during a meeting with journalists.

"The window of opportunity to end the war is from the G20 in the United States until the end of summer 2027, because after that the US presidential election begins. We believe that, at this point, this is the most active period during which diplomacy can lead to the end of the war. It is the end of this year through the end of summer 2027," Zelenskyy said.

According to him, if negotiators fail to reach an agreement before the US election, the reason will be quite clear.

"(Russian dictator Vladimir - ed.) Putin wants to constantly demonstrate strength, does not want to engage in any dialogue and wants maximum escalation. So that's roughly how we see it. We are also discussing this with the Europeans," the president said.

Talks to end the war

As previously reported, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy recently confirmed that the US had received new proposals from Ukraine on ending Russia's war.

Moscow said it was ready to resume peace talks, but there was one condition.

Meanwhile, Ukraine's Foreign Ministry said it was already waiting for the first visit to Kyiv by US President Donald Trump's team.

At the same time, the Kremlin recently reiterated that it does not plan any "freeze" of the war against Ukraine.

We previously reported that Russia allegedly would never agree to a "freeze" of hostilities in Ukraine without addressing the "root causes" of the war.

Earlier, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev personally proposed to Putin that Russia "freeze" the war against Ukraine and return to the terms of the 2022 Istanbul negotiations.

It also became known that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin likely used his meeting with the Kazakh president to justify continuing the war against Ukraine.
