On Sunday afternoon, March 1, Iran fired missiles at British military bases in Cyprus, according to British Defense Secretary John Healey, citing the Independent.

“We are pretty sure they weren’t targeted at our bases,” Healey said.

But he added that “this shows how indiscriminate Iran's retaliation is.”

The minister also noted that 300 British military personnel were near Iran's targets in Bahrain.

“Some of them were in several hundred yards of the missile strikes,” Healey said.

Escalation in the Middle East

On February 28, Israel and the US launched a preemptive strike against Iran.

US President Donald Trump said that the United States had launched a military campaign in Iran to eliminate threats from the ayatollah regime.

In response, Iran has already carried out a series of missile launches targeting Israel and the UAE, leading to a state of emergency in the region and civilian deaths due to falling debris in Abu Dhabi.

Subsequently, it became known about the death of Iran's supreme leader, Ali Khamenei.

At least four members of Khamenei's family and several high-ranking officials were also killed in a series of missile strikes by the US and Israel.

Iranian state television also confirmed the death of the country's defense minister and chief of staff in the air strike.
