Units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Unmanned Systems Forces have struck hundreds of critical military and energy facilities deep inside Russia and in temporarily occupied territories since the beginning of 2026, according to the commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert "Madyar" Brovdi.

In his words, in just the first 48 days of the year, Ukrainian drones attacked over 240 targets, including oil and defense industry facilities, energy infrastructure, airfields, air defense systems, and radar stations.

Some strikes were carried out in coordination with other units of the Defense Forces.

Energy and defense industry targets

Confirmed targets include several oil refineries, gas processing plants, oil depots, and chemical plants, notably in Ryazan, Yaroslavl, Tuapse, Saratov, Volgograd, as well as the Tamanneftegaz oil terminal.

Additionally, power substations, thermal power plants, and military-industrial facilities were targeted.

Strikes on military infrastructure

Beyond industrial facilities, military airfields, logistics hubs, and other facilities supporting Russian military operations were also hit.

Overall, in January–February, the Unmanned Systems Forces units destroyed or damaged thousands of enemy targets. The results of specific operations are regularly published by the General Staff.

"Madyar" emphasized that unmanned systems units carry out combat missions daily across multiple directions, focusing both on deep strikes into enemy territory and supporting frontline operations.

Destruction of enemy equipment

Operators from the Asgard battalion of the 412th Nemesis Brigade destroyed two Russian Tor-M2 surface-to-air missile systems in a single night.

Earlier, the same units eliminated six more air defense and radar systems within 48 hours, which formed the backbone of Russia’s multilayered air defense.

Furthermore, the unmanned systems units recently destroyed a rare Russian electronic warfare system, the KOP-2, using only two drones. They also destroyed the R-330Zh Zhitel electronic warfare station, valued at approximately $10 million.

On the night of January 13, the Unmanned Systems Forces attacked energy facilities in occupied Mariupol and destroyed an ammunition depot in Makiivka. Recently, it was also reported that the operators of the Unmanned Systems Forces disrupted a Russian offensive in one of the key directions, targeting infantry, armored vehicles, and an unmanned ground vehicle.
