Russia launched a massive strike on Dnipro on Tuesday, June 2. Due to the high number of people killed and injured, June 3 was declared a day of mourning. However, the occupying army continued attacking the city today, according to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (DSNS), a statement by Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration head Oleksandr Hanzha, and a statement by Dnipro Mayor Borys Filatov.

On the night of June 2, Russian forces launched a massive combined attack on Ukraine using ballistic, cruise, and hypersonic missiles, as well as drones. In Dnipro, several apartment buildings were partially destroyed, while a business, a fire station, garages, and vehicles were damaged.

After search and rescue operations in the residential district hit by the attack were completed on Tuesday evening, authorities confirmed that 16 people had been killed and 42 injured.

Day of mourning and a new attack

Dnipro Mayor Borys Filatov declared June 3 a day of mourning. Under his order, Ukrainian national flags were flown at half-mast on the city council building, as well as on buildings and facilities belonging to municipal enterprises, institutions, and organizations.

However, even after the day of mourning was announced, the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration reported another enemy drone strike on a residential building in Dnipro. An 8-year-old girl was injured in the attack.

Strike on ATB warehouses

Today, June 3, the occupying army attacked Dnipro again. Filatov said that a warehouse storing products for the ATB supermarket chain was hit in the strike.

Later, Hanzha reported that Russian forces had carried out a second strike on the Dnipro district, complicating the work of emergency services already operating at the site of the initial impact.

Filatov added that several apartment buildings and a kindergarten were also affected by the evening enemy attack. In particular, up to 100 windows were shattered.

Eight people were injured in the strikes. Seven of them were hospitalized, while three remain in critical condition.

Strike on Nova Poshta

Later, Russia launched another attack on Dnipro, hitting a Nova Poshta (postal service) terminal.

According to Hanzha, damage was recorded at the impact site, and specialized services are continuing to assess the extent of the destruction. Information on possible casualties is also being clarified.

Later, Nova Poshta confirmed that its innovative terminal in Dnipro was damaged as a result of the Russian attack. It was noted that employees were in shelter during the strike and were not injured.

The President of Ukraine stated that Russia is capable of producing around 120 ballistic missiles per month. Combined with other types of weaponry, this enables it to carry out large-scale missile attacks on a regular basis.

Previously, Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned that Russia may concentrate future strikes on specific defense enterprises. According to him, the Kremlin views Ukraine’s ability to independently develop missile technologies as a strategic threat.
