Russia is capable of producing around 120 ballistic missiles per month. Alongside other types of weaponry, this allows it to carry out large-scale massive attacks regularly, stated Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his address to participants of the Ukraine–NATO Council meeting in Kyiv.
The main danger for Ukraine
According to the President, Russia’s high rate of ballistic missile production creates a constant danger for Ukrainian cities.
"Russia has the capacity to produce around 120 ballistic missiles every month. And that is just ballistic missiles. Russia also produces other types of missiles," Zelenskyy emphasized.
The head of state stressed that this factor is currently one of the most critical security threats facing the country.
"It's clear that this is the greatest threat we face right now," he added.
Intensity of Russian strikes
The President also recalled the large-scale combined attacks carried out on Ukraine the previous day, when the enemy used hundreds of aerial weapons.
Yesterday, and from just one massive attack, Russia killed 23 people in our country, including children. The Russians used a large number of drones – more than 650 during the night and around 100 more during the day. But the most dangerous threat is, of course, missiles.

"Yesterday, and from just one massive attack, Russia killed 23 people in our country, including children. The Russians used a large number of drones — more than 650 during the night and around 100 more during the day," Zelenskyy said, adding that missiles remain the most dangerous threat.
Russian missile and drone production
Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence (HUR) previously reported that as of summer 2025, Russia had accumulated more than 1,950 strategic missiles of various types. This included up to 500 Iskander-M ballistic missiles, around 300 Iskander-K cruise missiles, as well as hundreds of Kh-101, Kh-22/Kh-32, Kalibr missiles, and up to 150 Kinzhal hypersonic missiles.
In addition, Russia also has thousands of Shahed-136 attack drones and their decoys, while monthly missile production rates were estimated by intelligence at around 195 units.
At the same time, in June 2026, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, after a HUR briefing, warned that Russia is planning to focus future attacks on specific defense companies.
According to the head of state, the Kremlin sees Ukraine’s ability to independently develop missile technologies, including producing its own ballistic missiles and interceptors, as a strategic threat.
