Explosions reported in several areas of occupied Crimea
Explosions occurred in the temporarily occupied Crimea in the early hours of October 28, with reports from the Dzhankoy, Hvardiiske, and Simferopol districts. An air raid alert was also declared in Sevastopol, according to Sevastopol governor Mikhail Razvozhayev and the Crimean Wind.
It was noted that there were numerous explosions in the Hvardiiske area.
Additionally, social media reports indicated explosions near the airport in Simferopol. However, whether these were impacts or resulted from Russian air defense operations remains unclear.
“A series of explosions, up to 8 pieces, were also reported in the Krasnohvardiiske district, according to the subscriber. The information needs to be clarified,” the Crimean Wind states.
Online sources added that as many as 20 explosions were reportedly recorded in Dzhankoy and the surrounding area, suggesting the possibility of an impact.
Meanwhile, the Russian governor of Sevastopol had previously warned of a ballistic threat but later announced the all-clear.
Explosions in Crimea
As a reminder, explosions on the territory of the Ukrainian peninsula temporarily controlled by the Russian forces have become quite frequent since the large-scale Russian invasion. Ukrainian defense forces are actively targeting the Russian military capabilities, striking their equipment and weaponry, and disrupting their logistics.
Earlier, it was reported that on the night of October 24, explosions occurred in Sevastopol, Balaklava, and Belbek, where the Russian airfield is located.
Before this, explosions and a fire occurred at the Belbek airfield on the night of October 7.
In mid-August, Russian forces reported a drone attack on Sevastopol, with explosions also heard in Kerch.
Additionally, earlier this month, a major oil terminal in Feodosia was engulfed in flames following an attack by Ukrainian defense forces on October 7. The facility burned for approximately a week, with storage tanks exploding over several days at the oil depot.
