Russian authorities report drone attack on Sevastopol, explosions also heard in Kerch
Temporarily occupied Sevastopol was reportedly attacked by kamikaze drones. Air defense was active, according to the head of the city's occupation administration, Mikhail Razvozhayev, and the spokesperson for the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Serhii Bratchuk.
"Air defense is active in Sevastopol. According to preliminary information, one UAV has already been shot down over the sea," Razvozhayev wrote.
He urged the city's residents to "stay in temporary shelters or safe places."
Later, Razvozhayev wrote that air defense forces and the Black Sea Fleet "repelled the attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine." Reportedly, three UAVs were shot down.
RIA Novosti reported that traffic on the Crimean Bridge was temporarily blocked.
The Crimean Wind Telegram channel reported explosions over Kerch.
"And, it seems, there was a hit on Mount Mithridat, where a Pantsir-S1 was located. After the explosion, a large fire broke out," the channel wrote. "Smoke is coming from the ferry crossing in Kerch," another message said.
According to subscribers of the channel, a siren was heard in Feodosia, and shooting was happening at sea.
Crimean Wind, citing subscribers, reported:
- Something is burning in the Kamyanka area near Simferopol after an explosion;
- Helicopters are patrolling over the Chornomorske settlement, and shooting was heard;
- At 4:31, there was an explosion in the Chornomorske settlement, approximately in the area of the Vuzka Bay;
- At 4:59, there was another explosion in the Chornomorske settlement, and shooting continued.
Serhii Bratchuk, the spokesperson for the Odesa Regional Military Administration, reported that during the attack, according to preliminary information, the ferry crossing at the port of Kerch and a boat in the Chornomorske settlement were hit. Reconnaissance is ongoing.
It is worth recalling that Crimea, which is temporarily occupied, was last attacked on the night of August 2. Explosions were heard in Sevastopol, Balaklava, Saky, Yevpatoria, and Simferopol.
On August 13, the resistance movement ATESH reported that the Russians were using complex defense methods at strategic sites in Crimea to protect them from Ukrainian air attacks. Therefore, they are placing observation posts along the peninsula's coast.
