Dobropillia front sees signs of stabilization, Ukrainian military says

Ukrainian Defense Forces are stabilizing the situation in the Dobropillia sector. The defenders are actively detecting and destroying Russian units, Major Andrii Kovalov, spokesperson for the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, told RBC-Ukraine
"The situation in the Dobropillia sector is stabilizing. The defense forces are taking all necessary measures to identify and destroy the groups of Russian occupants," he said.
He noted that, following the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine's decision, additional forces and means were allocated to strengthen defense stability in the Dobropillia and Pokrovsk sectors.
"In particular, the enemy suffers significant losses in the course of operations by the 1st Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine Azov, adjacent and subordinate units," Kovalov said.
As a result of the fighting, 151 Russian troops have been eliminated in the corps' area of responsibility over the past two days. More than 70 were wounded. Also, during this period, the corps' soldiers captured 8 Russians.
"The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue search and strike operations in the area of their responsibility. The situation is stabilizing," added Kovalov.
Situation near Dobropillia
The Ukrainian project DeepState reported that Russian troops were actively advancing on the northern section between Dobropillia and Druzhkivka.
Analysts suggested that if the momentum of the fighting continues, Dobropillia could be at risk of being captured before Pokrovsk.
Meanwhile, at the official level, the General Staff confirmed the complexity of the situation, but emphasized that isolated penetrations of small enemy groups behind the first line of defense do not mean actual control over the territory.
As RBC-Ukraine has learned from informed sources in military circles, Russian infantry has advanced from Novotoretske to Kucheriv Yar, Vesele, and Zolotyi Kolodiaz. At the same time, the enemy is trying to cross the Dobropillia-Kramatorsk road near Novovodiane and Petrivka.
However, the sources emphasize that this is not a breakthrough, but rather a seepage that has been going on for almost a week. The situation is complicated by the fact that the area is difficult, given the network of mines.
The enemy's further task may be to gain a foothold in the area, and then to bring in the next waves of troops and expand the flanks of this incursion.
Meanwhile, the spokesman for the Dnipro Brigade, Viktor Trehubov, stated yesterday that Russian infantry groups advancing near Dobropillia were being detected and destroyed by the Ukrainian Defense Forces. He explained that the protrusion on the map is more of a route rather than the territory controlled by the enemy.
According to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the Russian side is trying to use tactical penetration near Dobropillia to influence the upcoming meeting between US President Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin in Alaska.
According to the Center for Countering Disinformation, Putin's bet is failing, and the Ukrainian Armed Forces are neutralizing Russia's breakthrough near Dobropillia.
