In several areas of temporarily occupied Crimea, explosions were heard on the night of November 2. Near Dzhankoy, Russian forces initiated operations of their air defense forces, reports the Telegram channel Krymskyi Veter.

It is reported that the explosions initially occurred in the Dzhankoy and Krasnoperekopsk districts around 1:00 a.m.

Additionally, social media sources indicate that there were nine explosions in those areas.

Later, information emerged about the operation of Russian air defense in Dzhankoy. Subsequently, reports also indicated that explosions were heard in the Nizhnegorsky district of the Crimean peninsula.

"From Dzhankoy, it was reported that there were five launches of Russian air defense and three impacts that shook the buildings," the Telegram channel Krymskyi Veter stated at 1:10 a.m.

There are also accounts online of bright flashes seen near the village of Azovske in the Dzhankoy district.

Additionally, an air alert was declared in Sevastopol. According to the local gauleiter Mikhail Razvozhayev in a Telegram post, this is related to the threat of a ballistic missile strike.

However, around 1:30 a.m., a representative of the Russian authorities announced that the threat to Sevastopol had been lifted.

Later, Krymskyi Veter reported that explosions were also heard in the vicinity of the city of Saky.

Explosions in Crimea

It should be noted that explosions have been occurring quite frequently on the territory of the Ukrainian peninsula temporarily controlled by Russian forces since the onset of the full-scale invasion. Ukrainian defense forces, during their attacks, are effectively diminishing the military potential of the Russian army, targeting equipment and weaponry, and disrupting logistics.

For instance, prior reports mentioned explosions in Crimea in the Dzhankoy, Hvardiiske, and Simferopol districts on the night of October 28.

Earlier, on the night of October 24, explosions were heard in the areas of Sevastopol, Balaklava, and Belbek, where the Russian airfield is located.

Additionally, on the night of October 7, there were also explosions in occupied Crimea, resulting in a fire at the Belbek airfield.

Earlier last month, the largest oil terminal in Crimea in Feodosia was set ablaze following an attack by Ukrainian defense forces on October 7. This facility burned for about a week, and over several days, tanks on the oil depot's premises exploded.
