Explosion causes partial power outage in Kramatorsk, full blackout in two other cities in Donetsk region

In the Donetsk region, explosions were reported amid a ballistic threat. Power outages have been recorded in three cities, according to the Ukrainian Air Force, Suspilne Donbas, and Donetsk Regional Military Administration head Vadym Filashkin.
At 7:12 PM Kyiv time, the Air Force warned that the northeastern regions face a ballistic threat from Russia's Voronezh.
Later, reports emerged online that residents of Kramatorsk heard an explosion, after which the city experienced partial power outages.
Power supply issues have also been reported in Sloviansk and Druzhkivka.
What the head of the Regional Military Administration said
"Part of the Donetsk region is without power due to enemy attacks. Specifically, all of Druzhkivka and Kostiantynivka, as well as some areas of Kramatorsk, are without electricity," Filashkin wrote.
He noted that the Russian forces continue to deliberately target critical infrastructure, with the energy sector being their main target.
"As soon as the security situation allows, specialists will immediately restore power," he added.
Attacks on the energy sector
Russian forces have recently intensified attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.
In particular, on Wednesday, October 1, they struck an energy facility in Slavutych, Kyiv region, causing a blackout at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant.
Serious power outages also began in the Chernihiv region, where scheduled electricity cuts are in effect.
Meanwhile, today, October 3, due to multiple strikes on an energy facility in Shostka, the entire city was left without power.
Notably, the Russian army has targeted Ukraine’s energy sector amid a nationwide drop in temperatures.
