Russian forces struck an energy facility in the Chernihiv region, leaving part of the region without electricity, according to Chernihiv Regional Military Administration head Viacheslav Chaus and Slavutych mayor Yurii Fomichev on Telegram and Facebook.

"The enemy struck an energy facility in a neighboring region. There is damage. As a result, some communities in the Chernihiv region are without electricity," Chaus wrote.

He added that the enemy attack is ongoing. Relevant services are already on site and working to restore the power grid.

Fomichev reported that Russia hit substation No. 330 in Slavutych, leaving the city without electricity. According to him, the extent of the damage is being assessed, and firefighters are on site addressing the aftermath of the attack.

He noted that the city is trying to switch to another substation, but this will take time. Backup power has been enabled for the water utility, as well as for communication systems, but water supply for residents will be available only at certain hours.

In Slavutych, "points of resilience" are being set up where people can warm up, charge their devices, and prepare food.

Power outages have also been reported in several other communities in the region, including Semenivka, Koriukivka, Novhorod-Siverskyi, and Ripky.

Chernihivvodokanal (Chernihiv Water Utility) reported that due to the power outage, residents on the upper floors of high-rise buildings in the city may experience water supply issues.

Russian strikes on the Chernihiv region

On Tuesday, September 30, the aggressor country launched a massive strike on the city of Bobrovytsia in the Chernihiv region. The attack damaged energy infrastructure.

Enemy attacks left over 26,000 subscribers without electricity in Bobrovytsia and nearby settlements. Energy workers are currently working to restore the power supply.

Russia also carried out a missile strike on a village in the Koriukivka district. Unfortunately, a civilian man born in 1978 was killed as a result of the attack.

In total, Russia attacked the Chernihiv region 20 times over the course of the day, with explosions reported in 13 settlements in the region. In addition to the Nizhyn district, the strikes affected Koriukivka and Novhorod-Siverskyi districts.
