The European Union Ambassador to Ukraine, Katarína Mathernová, harshly responded to yet another massive Russian attack, which destroyed several regions during the night of May 24, including in Kyiv.

"Another horrific missile & drone attack on Ukraine. Main target - Kyiv. Many residential buildings on fire, suffered a lot of damage. 15 people injured," Mathernová reported.

She also noted that the shelling affected neighborhoods where her colleagues live.

"If anyone still doubts Russia wants war to continue - read the news," she wrote.

On the evening of Friday, May 23, strike drones were observed heading toward Kyiv. Amid the drone attack, explosions were heard in Kyiv and the region, and air defense forces and systems were activated.

On May 24, Russia launched one of the most powerful combined attacks on Kyiv, using ballistic missiles and kamikaze drones simultaneously.

According to the Air Force, a total of 14 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles and 250 strike UAVs were launched across Ukraine. Air defense forces destroyed six missiles and neutralized 245 drones.

Debris from intercepted targets fell in six districts of Kyiv. In the Obolon district, a residential building and a shopping center were damaged.
