EU ambassador to Ukraine Katarína Mathernová found a fragment of a Russian drone while walking in a Kyiv forest, the European diplomat said.
According to the EU representative, the incident occurred a few days ago during a walk in a forest in Kyiv.
"I love forests. I am used to finding mushrooms or the first spring flowers there. This time, I found a large piece of a Shahed drone! That is how war changes a country. That is Ukraine's reality today," Mathernová said.
She noted that her security guard checked the found fragment before she took it for a photo.
"It could no longer explode or hurt anyone. Still, it was a deeply unsettling feeling," the diplomat added.
Mathernová recalled that despite Ukraine's proposal for an Easter ceasefire, Russia continued attacks that killed at least 16 people and injured more than 90.
"This cannot become normal. Walking through a spring forest and finding fragments of weapons designed to destroy human lives. Ukraine deserves peace," the EU representative concluded.

Attack on Ukraine on April 6
On the night of April 6, Russian forces once again attacked Ukraine with strike drones from several directions. According to the Air Force, 141 UAVs were recorded, about 80 of them were Shahed-type drones.
Air defense forces destroyed most targets, but debris and drone hits were recorded in various regions of the country.
Thus, Odesa was under a massive attack overnight. One of the drones hit a high-rise building, killing three people: a 30-year-old woman, her 2.6-year-old daughter, and a 53-year-old woman.
At least 15 people sustained injuries of varying severity, including a pregnant woman and two children — a 7-month-old boy and a 2-year-old girl. Of them, 13 were hospitalized.
DTEK (Ukraine's largest private energy company) reported that one of the city's energy facilities was also hit. As a result of the attack, nearly 20 thousand families were left without electricity.
In connection with the tragic consequences of the attack, a day of mourning has been declared in Odesa.
