Strategic defense enterprise as possible target

Footage from the scene suggests the epicenter of the fire may have been the Elektrovypryamitel plant's premises.

The company is one of Russia's largest manufacturers of power electronics, converters, inverters, and specialized equipment for the country's state defense orders.

Due to its direct involvement in supporting the Russian military-industrial complex, the plant is under sanctions imposed by Ukraine, the US, the EU, Canada, and the UK.

Strikes on Russian defense industry

Recently, Ukrainian drones have increasingly targeted strategic enterprises inside Russia that work for the country's defense industry.

In particular, the Ukrainian Defense Forces recently used Flamingo missiles to strike a plant involved in producing intercontinental ballistic missiles.

They also hit two Russian landing ships during an attack on military facilities in Crimea.

Also, a plant manufacturing Iskander tactical missile systems was struck, with a large-scale fire triggered after the hits.

Previously, Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces Robert "Madyar" Brovdi has also published a list of Russian cities—from Ryazan to Tuapse—hosting military and industrial sites considered legitimate targets for strikes by Ukraine's Armed Forces.
