On the night of 28 August, Russian forces struck the Nova Post warehouse facilities in the Bilohorodka community of the Kyiv region. The attack was sustained: following the initial impact, the enemy delivered two more strikes on the same location while firefighters were still battling the blaze, according to the Facebook page of Anton Ovsiienko, head of the Bilohorodka village council.
Double-tap tactics
According to Ovsiienko, the enemy hit the Nova Post warehouses and damaged a nearby production facility in Sviatopetrivske.
Nearly an hour after the first impact, as rescuers were already extinguishing the fire, two more strikes landed on the same location - crews had managed to withdraw to a safer position. Information on casualties and injuries is currently being verified.
Emergency services, including State Emergency Service units, the local fire brigade, police, and communal services, are operating at the scene. The community head is personally present on site and is urgently urging residents not to approach the strike zone due to the danger of repeated attacks.

Due to significant smoke, residents of Sviatopetrivske and surrounding areas are being urged to keep windows closed and avoid going outdoors unless absolutely necessary. On 28 August, traffic was also temporarily restricted on a section of Kyivska Street in the direction of Boyarka, as well as on parts of Industri-alna and Chornovola streets in Sviatopetrivske.
On the evening of 27 August, it emerged that following the first overnight strike, the region had sustained another 28 repeated attacks - with emergency crews continuing to battle large-scale fires under the threat of further attacks.
Overnight, Russian forces launched a massive attack on logistics infrastructure in the Kyiv region, damaging or destroying distribution centres belonging to the retail chains Fora (supermarket chain), Budynok Igrashok (toy retailer), and Comfy (electronics retailer).
Other regions were also hit. At midday, a drone struck a hypermarket in Kharkiv's Osnovianskyi district, killing one person and injuring five others. Overall, according to the Air Force, from 07:00 Kyiv time, Russian forces launched some 140 strike drones across Ukraine, more than 100 of which were jet-powered.
