Drones, ballistic missiles hit from multiple directions in night assault

On the night of February 28, Russia attacked Ukraine with an Iskander-M ballistic missile and 105 strike drones launched from multiple directions. Air defense forces managed to shoot down most of the enemy targets, according to the Telegram channel of the Ukrainian Air Force.

According to the military, from 6:00 p.m. on February 27 until the morning of February 28, the enemy launched an Iskander-M ballistic missile from Russia's Voronezh region, as well as 105 strike drones of the Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas types and other UAVs from the directions of Oryol, Bryansk, Kursk, Shatalovo, Bryansk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Millerovo (Russia), and from temporarily occupied Donetsk and Hvardiiske in temporarily occupied Crimea.
About 60 of the launched drones were Shaheds.
The air assault was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare units and unmanned systems, as well as mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data as of 8:00 a.m., air defense shot down or suppressed 96 enemy drones of the Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas types and other UAVs in the north, south, and east of the country.
Six strike drones hit their targets, and debris fell at seven locations.
"The attack is ongoing, several enemy UAVs remain in the airspace. Follow safety rules!" the Air Force warned.
Shelling of Ukraine
On the night of February 27, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with nearly 200 drones. Most of the enemy targets were destroyed by air defense forces.
At the same time, 20 strike drones hit 14 locations.
In particular, in the early morning hours, Russian forces attacked central Sumy. As a result of the strike, a fire broke out at a hotel, and rescuers evacuated about 50 people.
While firefighters were extinguishing the blaze, Russian forces carried out a second strike targeting the rescuers. No personnel were injured, and the fire was promptly put out.
Russian occupying forces also attacked civilian and port infrastructure in the Odesa region with strike drones. Two people were injured, port facilities and residential buildings were damaged, and a kindergarten was destroyed.
